Removing Goals (OGIs) from a Member’s Care Plan

Removing Goals (OGIs) from a Member’s Care Plan

Purpose

This article explains how to remove or delete a Goal (OGI – Opportunity, Goal, Intervention) from a member’s Care Plan in GuidingCare.

Steps

  1. Go to Member Details

    • From the main navigation, open the member’s profile.

    • On the left-hand menu, click Care Plan.

  2. Locate the OGI (Goal)

    • The Care Plan page displays all OGIs generated from the member’s assessment.

    • Each OGI will show its current status — Recommended (orange) or Current (green).

  3. Access the Action Menu

    • Hover over the Action button beside the OGI you wish to remove.

    • You will see options such as Edit, Sign, Add Activity, and Delete (depending on the OGI’s status).

  4. Select the Goal

    • Click Select to open the OGI details screen.

    • Confirm that the OGI is not tied to any open activities or interventions.

If activities exist, close or remove them first before deleting the OGI.

  5. Delete the Goal

    • From the Action dropdown, click Delete.

    • Confirm when prompted.

    • The OGI and its associated interventions will be permanently removed from the member’s Care Plan.

Important Notes

  • You can only delete OGIs that are not signed or have no linked activities.

  • Once deleted, the goal and related data cannot be recovered.

  • If the Delete option is grayed out, check whether the OGI is signed or has open activities attached.

  • Your organization’s configuration or permissions may restrict deletion access.

Example Path

Member Details → Care Plan → Select OGI → Action → Delete
